Participation in the Optimist Club is an excellent way for civic-minded individuals to get involved in our community. When you ask members why they volunteer, they will tell you they “do it for the kids.” There is no greater reward than hearing a grateful “thank you!”
More importantly, when people work together they learn from each other, solidify friendships, and collectively accomplish greater community goals.
Our primary fundraising activity is a pancake breakfast held each February at Lee’s Summit High School. The event also features a music concert celebrating our collaboration with numerous elementary schools within the LSR7 School District. Local sponsorship and family participation are greatly appreciated and directly help fund our ongoing and annual programs within the district.
All donations and profits from these activities support the ongoing programs that include Super Citizens, Students of the Month, Junior Optimists, Scholarships and more.
